This Privacy Policy describes how Pathloop ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

1. Data Collection and Usage

Pathloop is designed with privacy in mind. Our core philosophy is that your data belongs to you.

• Location Data: The App processes GPS files (GPX and FIT formats) that you explicitly open within the App. This data is processed locally on your device to generate map visualizations and animations. We do not collect, transmit, or store your location data on any external servers.
• Personal Information: We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide map functionalities, the App utilizes third-party map rendering engines (MapLibre and OpenStreetMap). When the App downloads map tiles to display your routes, your device communicates directly with these map tile servers.

• These requests may expose your device's IP address to the tile providers.
• The tile providers do not receive your GPS tracks or personal data from the App.

3. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions to function correctly:

• Storage / Media Access: Required to open GPX/FIT files from your device and to save exported video animations to your gallery.
• Internet Access: Required to download map tiles for rendering the map background.
• Notifications / Foreground Service: Required to keep the video rendering process running reliably in the background.

4. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
